| Thoroughly enjoyed two weeks in August 2025 at this bright cottage with gorgeous views on a beautiful lake. Already booked for a return in 2026!
The owner, Carmen, is friendly and accessible: she greeted me on arrival, gave me a tour and answered my questions, she was immediately responsive and helpful with any requests I had before and during my stay. She has a strong family connection to the cottage and takes good care of it.
My friends and I noted how bright and light the cottage is and we appreciated the opportunity to lounge in comfortable chairs on the deck and dock. (Lots of space for simultaneous conversations, and your choice of shade or sun.) A highlight was the bird feeders drawing a wide range of birds that were entirely entertaining. We also enjoyed watching the sunsets from the front balcony and dock (as well as the fireflies).
The cottage is clean and well supplied with bedding, kitchen, cleaning and bathroom supplies, two kayaks, and water toys. The three bedrooms definitely allow for sleeping by 5 people. My dog lounged in the woods and, like us, took advantage of the deep, clean and relatively quiet lake. The cottage is private being at the end of the road. It's a quick 15 min drive to the well appointed grocery store in Perkins where we took advantage of delicious fresh strawberries and corn. The photos provided by the owner do a good job in depicting the cottage and setting.

| We really enjoyed our holidays at Carmen's cottage. She was really helpful and caring. The house was wonderful, clean and it had everything we needed. The exterior settings were also amazing, it was intimate and peaceful. We could relax and read at the dock while enjoying the lakeview. A ride in kayak or with the paddle board was also great to see the family of loonies on the lake.

| Absolute Perfection. We Didn't Want to Leave!
Carmen's cottage in Val-Du-Mont was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The place was spotless, cozy, and had numerous thoughtful touches, fresh flowers and snacks on the table. A fully stocked kitchen (complete with fresh ground coffee), and the most comfortable beds after long days of exploring the area.
The location is a dream. Tucked away in the trees but still close enough to town for quick trips, it was the perfect balance of peaceful and convenient. We loved drinking our morning coffee on the deck, listening to the birds, and at night, the stars were unreal. Carmen was the kind of host who goes above and beyond she gave us recommendations for hidden hiking trails and even checked in, without intruding to make sure we had everything we needed.
We've stayed in a lot of rentals, but this one stands out. Carmen's warmth and attention to detail made it special. If you're looking for a slice of Quebec charm with a host who truly cares, book this cottage. We're already planning our next trip back.

| Beautiful, serene place; perfect for relaxing, kayaking and swimming! No weeds in the water! The host was very kind and even had treats ready for our dog!
Lovely deck with hammocks, the dock was great as well! Hope to be back!

| Cottage is wonderful! Family of four with dog, very comfortable. Everything you need for a relaxing getaway not far from Ottawa! Host very friendly, a little hike down to the lake but well worth it.
