Charming ecological house built with straw bales, with a large open space and cathedral ceilings for people who love nature and healthy living. The electricity for the house is supplied by solar panels and the house is built with natural materials, which ensures excellent air quality. A compost toilet (odorless) as well as a complete bathroom with shower and a claw-foot tub are key features of the house. Come live in harmony to the rhythm of nature. Seasonal rental only - available from November 1st 2024 to January 31st 2025 (possibility of longer). Rental price reduction of 500$/ month for 3 month rental.
The house can comfortably accommodate 6 people with the master bedroom and its Queen bed, a second closed bedroom with 2 single bunk beds and a futon sofa bed in a corner of the open area that can be closed with curtains for more privacy .
The house is surrounded by large permaculture gardens with more than 50 fruit trees and a hundred fruit shrubs as well as a vegetable garden which make the place spectacular in summer. In wiinter, there are ski trails nearby and Québec city wonders.
Facing south-east, the house is very bright, located at the top of a slope that descends through a wooded area with private access to the beautiful Portneuf River. The panorama, seen through the large windows or from the terrace, changes with the seasons - the tops of all green trees in summer, the colors of fall, the sunrise visible through the kitchen early in the morning in winter.

| Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans l'éco-maison à Portneuf! Premièrement c'est une maison accueillante et chaleureuse, avec tout ce dont on a besoin pour passer un séjour (literie, cuisine bien équipée, etc.) avec la vue et le son de la rivière en bas du jardin.
Mais pour les écolo-curieux c'est une initiation complète car c'est une maison isolée en ballots de paille, éclairée à l'aide de panneaux solaire, chauffée en grande partie passivement grâce à l'abondante fenestration orientée vers le sud et doté d'une toilette à composte. L'été on est entouré de jardins potagers qui permettent aux proprios d'être presque auto-suffisant!
À notre arrivé, Benoit nous a fait le tour pour expliquer la marche à suivre pour la toilette à composte, qui était quand même très simple, et sans odeur ? tel que promis!
Vraiment une maison 5 étoiles!

| Nous avons eu un accueil chaleureux, merci Benoît! Le cadre est propice au repos : la proximité de la rivière, le jardin autour de la maison dont nous avons pu bénéficier visuellement et gustativement, un voisinage calme. La maison est agréable à vivre : lumineuse, confortable au niveau de la température et aménagée avec un beau mobilier de bois. Une expérience nouvelle dans une maison écologique appréciée!
