| We stayed at this cottage for 10 days in August. The cottage is lovely, private, and perfect for 2 people, or 3 for a shorter stay. It is small but never feels " too small" because of the high ceiling, loft and lots of natural light. The hosts, Carole and Yvon, are very nice and available if needed. The lake was very quiet, and because of where the cottage is located on the lake, we had the bay pretty much to ourselves most of the time. There's a summer kids' camp nearby but it seems to be closed. Even the mid-summer weekend was quiet! We enjoyed swimming, paddling ( canoe) and just sitting on the dock every day. In the mornings and evenings there were loons singing, frogs, lots of birds, and even an owl at night! Although the cottage is only about 20 minutes from the village of Wakefield, it is a little drive in on a couple of dirt roads and a paved road, so we tried not to go out more often than needed. The General Store is only about 10 minutes away, and the food truck at the same location is a great lunch stop ( Fri - Sun). Cell service from the area was not good, but text messages worked fine, and there is a land line/phone at the cottage. Internet worked well, but power outages seem fairly regular in the area ( we had 2 when we were there, each one lasting a few hours), so that's something to be aware of if you're trying to work remotely. Our stay here was peaceful and rejuvenating with all the nature sounds and the lake and I would highly recommend it!

Owner response: Thank you Joan and John, We are happy you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Hydro has been working on clearing the vegetation close to the lines, this should help with the power outages. Yes, there is a camp in the same bay, not closed but not often used, only one week this year. | |

| My husband and I spent a fabulous week at this beautiful cottage which Carole and Yvon have thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. It's cozy, comfortable and private, with a deck, screened gazebo, stairs down to the dock on the gorgeous and pristine Lac Notre-Dame. We canoed, kayaked, swam, listened to the loons, walked on the beautiful nearby trails, and relaxed. Carole and Yvon were wonderful hosts and we had some very enjoyable conversations about the area which they know so well. We easily took a couple of day trips to Wakefield to hike in Gatineau Park, and to Juniper Farm for organic produce and lunch. The cell/internet coverage was excellent. We highly recommend Les Ecureuils! Hoping to be back again!

| We had a lovely 2 night break. The cottage is immaculately clean, well-equipped and feels very private. The back roads were good for walking at a time when the trails in the woods would have been muddy. We enjoyed having a fire in the woodstove--we picked up wood at the corner store in Lascelles on our way in. It would be nice to come back sometime when we can enjoy the water.
We did not have cell phone reception in the cottage (although did while we were out walking nearby). There is a landline in the cottage, so we gave that number to our parents and kids in case we needed to be reached.
