Dec 19-29 (3-10 nights available) IMPORTANT : Check daily for the lastest price as I am dropping the price every couple days until rented. Surrounded by forest and 30 feet from the lake, you have found what you were dreaming of for your family or friends' reunion. If you love cottage life on a spectacular lake, then you have just found paradise. Connect with your true nature. Beautiful and spacious, the Eco Chalet at Camp Comfort, is a rustic and luxurious heritage chalet; an oasis for the heart and soul. Located 2 h 20 from Montréal it is ideal for 6 to 12 persons. I consider up to 14 quiet people. Call Tom Axtell the owner, for more details. Our historic (1919, plus the addition in 1995) our cottage is an architectural gem that has attracted famous musicians and great naturalists. In the summer, we aim for week l-ong rentals, and will consider a weekend group after the schedule is mostly booked, which happens in early June. The 130 feet of private beach front for you on Lac Aylmer is perfect for nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts. Two kayaks, a canoe and a Laser sailboat are available. Outdoor cinema (June-Oct) and Indoor (12 ft) cinema off season. The summer cinema, under the stars, started in our summer community of Camp Comfort in 1952. Under blankets, with popcorn, beside the lake, your kids will be talking about this for years! Now called the Looney Bay Theater, guests walk 1 minute to the property next door to access the cinema which is now self-serve with a Fire Stick streaming Disney, Prime and Crave. (training provided upon arrival). Many of our guests have enjoyed older restored filmd that look better than ever on our 3840x2160 pixal projector. Occassionally, a film will be shown during the week for the neighbours, usually kids, but this will not affect your privacy. Our personal log cabin is next door, behimd the cinema, but we are seldom there. The start of the Velorail sytem in the village of Beaulac is only 2 km. from here The velorail passes at the end of the prorperty. www.lesvelorails.com/
Note: We don't accept motor boats. At the Eco Chalet we use boats that minimize the impact on the lake shoreline such as canoe, kayak and sailboats, and electric motors.
Large indoor space.
Inside the 2,400 square feet of Cap Cod style timber-frame architecture you will find 6 closed bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, all bedding and towels, Internet, outdoor spa all year long, perfect for a gathering of family or friends. A unique 1/4 circle deck over the water.
Wake up in the master bedroom ("Ah!") with a view of the lake. Everything feels natural and rustic inside, from hardwood floors to the bees-waxed cedar paneling to the maple sapling banister that takes you up the oak spiral staircase. No toxic materials used in the 100 year old building.
Take a bath with a view of the cedars. Serve meals in the great room (24' x 24') or the the large country kitchen with island or on the over the water deck. Relax in the spa before and after diving in the lake.
We hosted nearly 30 yoga health retreats and was named by Reader's Digest as one of Canada's Top Ten Adult Summer Camps.
Swim, take out the row boat, canoe, or kayak (2), Laser sail boat, or just sunbathe on the wooden deck. Kids will be dazzled to find in the forest a toy store, frog pond, and giant rock. Visit campcomfort.ca for many more photos and complete description.
The original hunting and fishing camp was built in 1919 and has been in my family since 1929. It became my full-time residence in 1977, becoming one of the first winterized year-round residences on Lac Aylmer. It is 100% updated and double the size. After raising my family here in the last century I have rented my home for family reunions since 2001. As it is my residence, I am exempt from the CITQ regulations, this is why we do not have a number.

Connecting with nature makes us happier, healthier and smarter
"You exist by your smile and your presence. You exist for your joys and your relaxations. You exist in nature. You are part of the glittering sea, and part of the luscious, well-nourished plants, you are wedded to the sun, you are immersed in timelessness, only the present counts, and from the present you extract all the essences which can nourish the senses, and so the nerves are still, the mind is quiet, the nights are lullabies, the days are like gentle ovens in which infinitely wise sculptor's hands re-form the lost contours, the lost sensations of the body? As you swim, you are washed of all the excrescences of so-called civilization, which includes the incapacity to be happy under any circumstances."
Anaïs Nin, 1947, Acapulco

NOTES 50% deposit upon booking. Weeks usually begin on Friday or Sunday and include one weekend. If you would like Sat. to Sat., you will pay the weekend rate added to your week. Basic price is for 8 people. You need to calculate for extra people to a maximum of 12 people. I occasionally accept more people (especially with children). More people requires additional costs for cleaning, wear and tear and to ensure that my sewage system complies with the municipal guidelines to protect the quality of lake water. We must pump out the tank after large groups. To date, Ward bay (3 x 5 km.) has good quality of water. The above rates INCLUDE all taxes. 14.9% is included. No taxes charged for long term rentals of 31 days or more. Always ask for "last minute specials", 21 days or less in advance, I am willing to take offers. That never happened before Xmas and other major holidays. You will receive an e-agreement when reserving. You must send me an electronic payment of 50% of the total to secure your reservation. We like Interac E-Mail payment offered by most banks which is very secure and costs .50 at the TD Bank. You can also pay online with VISA using PayPal and STRIPE (I will send you payment requests). You will pay fees with paypal and credit cards. The balance (50%) is required 4 weeks prior to booking start date. That is so that all the payment has been processed before you arrive. Yes, I do expect a deposit if you wish to reserve very early (i.e. January for July). Cancellation: 100% of total cost refunded up to 4 weeks prior to start date, (less 50$ admin. fee) Less than 3 weeks - you get back 60%, Less than 2 weeks - 30%, Less than 1 week - 20%. | What a hidden treasure ! Prime location on the widest part of Aylmer lake on opposite side of the wind so not much waves. Pebbles bottom so firm base.Perfect for swimming ( lake was at 80 for a few days !). Tom, our host knows how to make his guests feel welcome and at ease. A true nature lover and an artist that utilize all the resources around him to make the cottage a treasure box that you keep discovering during your stay. We were 4 generations to enjoy our vacation, 9 to sleep and we would've have room for more! The unique experience of the outdoor walk-in movie Teather, the frog pond, jacuzzi, friendly but respectful neighbors, bicycles, water toys, sound systems, badminton net, darts, karaoke, fire camp etc? kept the little ones and adults busy the whole week .. A hassle and worry free vacation !

| We arrived late Friday afternoon and from the minute we walked in we were in ?wow? mood. Very comfortable, warm ambiance, and you really only need to bring you, your food and cloths. Lake is beautiful and I recommend this chalet to anyone who want to get away from the hustle and bustle. The only thing I regret?. Is not staying longer .

| Our family of 7 stayed at Camp Comfort to celebrate our "patriarch's" 70th birthday and have a week together after a very difficult 16 months. Tom's chalet is a great place to relax, renew and re-energize! The deck on the beach over- looking the water is perfect; we all so enjoyed the view from the hot tub as well. The big kids and little kids alike really had fun on the kayaks; and we all enjoyed sitting around the campfire after a "tough" day!! The house is equipped with absolutely everything you'll need...just bring yourselves, food and clothes (of course). Movie night next door was spectacular and the weather cooperated! This was our second stay and we plan on returning next summer for sure! Thank you, Tom, for sharing your special place with us...

| Looney Bay cinema was great. We liked the lakeside deck the most. Spent lots of time there. We were 9 people and there is lots of room. Fire pit at night along with canoes and kayaks during the day. Tom the owner puts out a lot of stuff for you to use. Great value.
