AIR MARIN SALÉ; EFFLUVES DES CONIFÈRES
LE PETIT CHALET is situated on one of the finest locations along the St. Lawrence River, combining mature trees with a marine shoreline. Nowhere else in Quebec will you find a bay with calm waters, a forest of mature trees, and the picturesque view of an active lighthouse and small islands. Located at the gateway to the Gaspé Peninsula, in the MacNider area of Métis-sur-Mer, just minutes from the Pointe Mitis Lighthouse. This exceptional vacation spot was founded by Scottish settlers and features grand summer homes and cottages. Only 5 minutes from the world-renowned Reford Gardens (Jardins de Métis).
The Petit Chalet is 500 square feet on a 100,000 square feet land with mature conifer trees. The only neighbour is Grand Chalet Cottage. The many trees and situation maintain the privacy of both cottages.
The grey sand and seashells gravel beach is 60 meters from the cottage. The land is at beach level. The beach is private for you and the cottage owners in the bay. Petit Chalet is far from road 132. Furthermore, there is no road in sight from any point on the property.
The bay is protected from big tides and allows for canoeing and kayaking. Kayaks rental nearby. Even though it is the sea, the temperature of the water rises enough for swimming in summer, although it is fresher than a lake.
The cottage is made entirely of cedar wood and has big cedar trees near it. Its mood is calming and cozy.
All included: Bedding, towels, Kleenex, dish soap, hair dryer, ironing board and iron, etc.
Ultra-fast fibre INTERNET, new TV
The kitchen contains everything needed to cook great meals: Stove, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, wine glasses, etc.
There is no luxury in the cottage (CITQ 1 star out of 5), however, there is charm, space (compared to other 4 people cottages), and the very very unique surroundings that have no equivalent.
Côté jardin: Chives, cherries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, rhubarb and raspberries.
Nice walks to do: Walk to the lighthouse via the beach and a little pedestrian road. It is also pleasant to sail there directly with a kayak. A few miles walk along chemin Beach to admire panoramas and the old England style houses. Or a small walk along the beach to the east and you find Domaine Annie-sur-mer where you can have a massage or eat regional cuisine including fish and seafood dishes.
A colony of seals lives on the rock islands 1000 feet in front of the cottage. You can observe them with binoculars or go nearby with a kayak; they'll be curious and observe you.
Within a 15 minutes' drive: Two golf courses, tennis, many art galleries, supermarkets, pharmacies, churches from many faith, Reford Metis Garden, Horseback riding, etc. For nightlife and many restaurants, Rimouski is 35 minutes away.
